Prudential is a globally recognised financial services and insurance company with a clear purpose: to be a partner for every life and a protector for every future. The company is seeking an Agency Recruitment Officer to be based at its Jinja Branch. Reporting to the Head of Agency Recruitment, this role is responsible for driving agent recruitment, delivering onboarding and development training, and building a strong pipeline of talent within the Ugandan insurance market.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify agent manpower needs across agency teams and drive recruitment awareness through social media, referrals, career fairs, and insurance industry events
- Build partnerships with universities and insurance institutes to attract fresh graduate talent
- Screen applications, conduct initial interviews, and carry out skill and experience assessments, including numeracy and aptitude tests where required
- Shortlist candidates for hiring managers and ensure all recruits meet the ideal agent profile and IRA Uganda licensing requirements
- Conduct new agent onboarding training, the rookie development programme, and agency leadership training sessions
- Run Pru Academy sessions, zero case writer clinics, and specialised training programmes
- Conduct branch training needs analysis surveys and coordinate boiler room sessions
- Organise and facilitate Business Opportunity Presentations (BOPs) for prospective agents
- Track new agent performance metrics to support retention and growth, and report to management on talent pipeline health and recruitment challenges
- Support smooth induction of new interns and hand them over to the relevant direct teams

- Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field or Human Resources
- A professional qualification in insurance, or currently working towards one
- Minimum of three years of work experience in the insurance industry
- Practical knowledge of insurance training, development, coaching, and mentoring
- Good understanding of insurance sales and marketing in Uganda’s insurance market
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment
