Medical Officer – Kireka

C-Care is a leading provider of quality medical services with facilities across Uganda, Mauritius, and Madagascar. The organisation is looking for a part-time Medical Officer to join its team at the Kireka clinic. You will be responsible for delivering safe, effective clinical care to outpatient and inpatient clients, upholding the high standards of practice that define C-Care’s service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Take comprehensive patient histories, conduct thorough examinations, and request appropriate investigations to guide accurate diagnosis and treatment
• Follow up on all active cases, ensuring that test results, imaging reports, and specialist opinions are obtained and acted upon
• Cover outpatient sessions and monitor patient card queues to prevent unnecessary waiting
• Operate, use, and maintain medical equipment according to facility standards
• Liaise with external providers and specialists to support coordinated patient care
• Train and guide junior staff on clinical matters including triage and patient handling
• Attend CME sessions and keep personal clinical knowledge current
• Provide clear written records of all management decisions and conduct a proper shift handover to the incoming Medical Officer
• Review ambulance cases as required to prepare for safe patient transfers
• Apply health scheme entitlement policies correctly and complete insurance claim forms accurately

Requirements

• A medical degree (MBChB or equivalent) from a recognised institution
• Valid Annual Practicing Licence and Registration Certificate
• Registration with the Uganda Medical and Dental Practitioners’ Council, or eligibility to register
• At least one year of post-internship professional experience
