Medical Officer – Ntinda

C-Care operates a network of high-standard healthcare facilities across Uganda, Mauritius, and Madagascar. The organisation is seeking a part-time Medical Officer for its Ntinda clinic, a busy outpatient and inpatient facility in Kampala. This role is ideal for a clinician who thrives in a structured, professional healthcare environment and is committed to delivering patient-centred care.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough patient consultations involving detailed history-taking, physical examination, and relevant diagnostic investigations
• Follow up on all cases to ensure investigations are completed and appropriate clinical attention is maintained throughout the patient’s episode of care
• Provide outpatient department cover and monitor patient waiting areas to ensure no patient is overlooked
• Work closely with specialist consultants when referrals or consultations are needed for admitted patients
• Mentor and guide junior medical staff on clinical procedures, triage, and patient management
• Keep up to date with current clinical knowledge through CME participation and regular reading
• Provide ward cover with thorough documentation of patient management plans and a proper handover at the end of each shift
• Review ambulance cases as needed to ensure safe and uninterrupted care during patient transfers
• Understand and apply relevant policies on health scheme entitlements and insurance claim documentation

Requirements

• A medical degree (MBChB or equivalent) from a recognised and reputable institution
• Valid Annual Practicing Licence and Registration Certificate
• Current registration with the Uganda Medical and Dental Practitioners’ Council, or eligibility for registration
• At least one year of clinical experience following completion of internship
