Communication Engineer (Transmission & Access System)

Uganda Electricity Transmission Company Limited (UETCL) is hiring a Communication Engineer (Transmission & Access System).

Key Responsibilities

• Direct and carry out preventive and corrective maintenance of access and transmission systems
• Mobilise maintenance resources, supervise activities and write detailed technical reports
• Manage PLCC, MPLS-TP, SDH, PDH, DWDM and OTN networks to keep bandwidth use and performance optimal

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunication, Electrical or Electronic Engineering from a recognised university
• Knowledge of utility and tele-protection protocols and SCADA protocols
• Hands-on experience configuring tele-protection interfaces for differential and distance protection
